The purpose of the Municipal Courts Department is to function as the official court administrator and custodian to ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and ordinances while striving to provide the highest level of customer service, professional efficiency and integrity.

Notice: You may qualify for a driving safety course, or a deferred disposition. You must appear in Court and request either the driving safety course or deferred disposition. For more information please contact the Court.

Appearance Dates

If you have received a citation, you must appear on or before the date and time on your citation.

Judicial Staff

The Municipal Court Judge, Randal Langston, is only available during Court session times. If you wish to speak with the Judge concerning your case, you must appear in Court.

Administrative Staff

The Municipal Court Clerk is available Monday-Thursday from 8am to 5pm and Friday from 8am to 12pm for questions that you have in reference to your citation. The Municipal Court Clerk does not answer legal questions of any nature. The Clerk is allowed to explain Court proceedings and procedures only. If you need legal advice, please contact a lawyer.

Driving Safety Course

To be eligible for a Driving Safety Course, you must have been doing under 25 Mph, have not taken the course in the past 12 months, and do not have a Commercial Driver’s License. You must contact the Court to request to take a driving safety course. You will have to fill out paperwork requesting to take the Course and pay a fine amount of $144.00. Once you have done that you will have 30 days to complete the course and a copy of your Driving Safety Course Certificate of Completion, Driving Record, and insurance back to us before your due date. You will be required to get a copy of your driving record (Type 3A), from DPS. You may get that at www.dps.tx.gov. You may take the course online, or in person. Once you have completed the course, and turned in your paperwork, the charges will be dismissed. If you fail to turn in your paperwork, you will be liable for the remaining amount of the fine. And you will have to attend a show cause hearing.

Deferred Disposition

To be eligible for Deferred Disposition, you must have been doing under 25 Mph. If you are under the age of 25 you are required to take Driving Safety Course as a stipulation of Deferred Disposition. The cost for Deferred Disposition is the fine amount plus a $50.00 special fee. You must fill out paperwork to request Deferred Disposition. Once the paperwork is filled out and the payment is made, you will be on probation for 90 days, where you cannot get a citation in that 90-day period. Once your 90-day probationary period is up, you will have 30 days to turn in your Driving Record. You may get the Driving Record from DPS at www.dps.tx.gov. You will need type 3A. If you fail to turn in your Driving Record, you will have to attend a show cause hearing.

Payment Plan

We do offer payment plans; you will need to come in and request a payment plan and fill out paperwork. The terms of the payment plan is $50.00 down and $50.00 every two weeks.

You may pay the fine online, go to our home page and find the payment link. You must have your citation number and the amount of the citation. You may also pay in person during regular business hours, or mail a check or money order to City of Liverpool Municipal Court, PO Box 24, Liverpool, Texas 77577. Please be advised that when paying over the phone, or online, or in person with a credit card, you will be charged $3.00 per $100.00.
